The 1999 China Telecom 2000, organized by Information Gatekeepers, was held at the Hyatt at Fishermans Wharf on November 2-3, 1999. This year’s conference drew hundreds of high level telecom executives from several countries. The conference covered a wide array of topics related to the telecom market in China - new telecom policy and regulations, telecom services market and the WTO, telecom investment financing models, IP phone and fax regulations, the Internet, web portals marketed in greater China, fiber optics and optical networking, switching, wireless, mobile satellite, VSAT, and other technologies. A total of over 20 speakers made presentations on various aspects of the telecom market in China.
